The Lenticular Printing Process Explained in 5 Steps<\/h1>\n

With the availability and affordability of Lenticular printing provided by 3D Adworks, 3D and lenticular printing for personal and business use is becoming more and more popular.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re seeing it used for creating\u00a0magnets<\/a> as well as for\u00a0business cards<\/a> and\u00a0large format advertisements<\/a>. The illusion of movement is one that is mesmerizing and attention getting, so it\u2019s no wonder that people are opting for it as an alternative to static imagery. Wondering how exactly we bring a static image to life? Here\u2019s a simple run down of the lenticular printing process.<\/p>\n<\/div>

\"3D<\/span><\/div>

STEP 1: Separate the photo\u2019s elements.<\/h3>\n

The first step to creating a lenticular image is to separate the main graphic elements of the photo and place them on their own layer.<\/p>\n

STEP 2: Fill the void.<\/h3>\n

Perhaps the most time consuming of the lenticular printing process, this step requires filling the void that is created once the main graphic elements have been removed. The more layers are available to fill that void the better.<\/p>\n

STEP 3: Parallax.<\/h3>\n

A parallax, also called a frame, is created by changing the main graphic elements positions. Each layer of the final image has a frame that is viewed differently depending on the vantage point they are being viewed from.<\/p>\n

STEP 4: Layering.<\/h3>\n

The parallax images (the frames) are then spliced together to create and interlaced to create the illusion of movement. This step is what creates the visual effect that is the foundation of 3D imagery<\/p>\n

STEP 5: Printing.<\/h3>\n

The interlaced image that was created in step four is lithographically printed directly to the background that was created in step two.<\/p>\n

All steps combined is what creates the eye catching magic we know as lenticular and 3D imaging.<\/p>\n<\/div>
